Among Us 2
Hi everyone! Time for a big post!
First of all, thanks so much for playing and enjoying Among Us. It's been crazy to see how much more popular Among Us could be than we ever imagined.
Second of all, yes. We're confirming Among Us 2. This post is all about what that means and why we're doing it.
First and Most Important
Among Us 1 servers will stay alive for as long as it has enough players to start games. When we first started, we found that players couldn't really play when the servers had fewer than 30 - 50 players per hour. But lately we have 70,000 - 110,000 per hour. We'd be crazy to shut off the servers on you in 2021! And even if Among Us 2 gets lots of players, we'll just run both at the same time. If Among Us 1 servers shut down, I will open source the code so players can run servers instead.
But why a sequel?
Among Us 1 has been out over two years. It started as a tiny local-multiplayer-only game and has grown and grown and grown. Online multiplayer took 2 months and a total rework to make happen, then 6 months per extra map, and horrible server growing pains along the way. It really was not created to be this big. Because of this, it's extremely hard to add more things without breaking existing things. Frankly, it's terrifying to add in more things because the game is so fragile. Fixing this would require recreating core sections of Among Us, then making sure everything else still works on top. It's actually even harder than just making a new game.
So the first goal of Among Us 2 is to be made to withstand growth. We want to add to it at least as long as Among Us, but with fewer bugs along the way.
What will be in Among Us 2?
Well, first, we plan to basically include Among Us 1 in some capacity. Don't expect us to drag and drop all three maps directly over, but we think it's important to keep the simple play of Among Us with crewmates and impostors. But do expect some new options and balance tweaks. For example, we know very well that 3 impostor needs more than 10 players to be balanced, so 12-15 player games is a goal.
Second, we know that hide and seek is a very popular mode, but it is tough to find or exclude those games. Expect matchmaking to work very differently to better support custom modes and skill levels.
Also, we know that forming groups and making friends is tough. Accounts and friends will be in Among Us 2 straight out of the gate.
Better moderation: We know that hacking, bad behaviour, and toxic language is a problem in Among Us 1 and we definitely don't like it. But we never had the tools to really combat it effectively as a three person team, so expect Among Us 2 to launch with fewer hacks, a report button, moderators, etc.
But we've always known that the thing that would really make Among Us 2 unique from Among Us 1 is more roles. We aren't far enough in the design to confirm any roles or how they will work, but the primary addition for Among Us 2 is more complexity than just Crewmate vs Impostor. This should add a lot more replayability to the game and we're excited to see how we can shake things up for more advanced players.
We have a lot of other things we know players want to see, and a lot of surprises in store as well. So we definitely think Among Us 2 will be worthy sequel. That said, we want to get people playing it quickly, so we will probably start small in Early Access so we can grow Among Us 2 with player feedback. But the above is some of the key bare minimums before we launch at all.
Will it cost extra?
Yes, but.
We know a lot of players just started playing Among Us 1 which makes it look like we're quickly moving to a sequel, so we're going to try carry over some stuff from Among Us 1. We haven't confirmed that we can do any of this yet, but we might:
- Launch with a discount coupon for Among Us 1 owners on Steam.
- Keep Among Us 2 Mobile free but with (removable) ads.
- Have free big content updates like maps and game modes. We're not making that mistake again.
- Have in-game currency so we can break up big cosmetic bundles and let people buy/earn just the things they want.
When will it come out?
We really do not know at all. We just started planning. There is no art, programming or sound done at all. For the record Among Us took about 6 months to enter open beta (early access) and 6 more months to leave open beta. Among Us 2 will probably take at least as long to enter open beta, and will probably spend longer there.
Unlike Among Us 1, we expect to make Among Us 2 for PC first, then port to mobile. This will let us focus on making a great game faster because updates can come out in minutes on PC, where mobile can take hours or even days.
So basically
We're super hype to start Among Us 2. It'll take a while, but we'll make sure it's worth it. We hope you'll stick around to see what we can do.
Oh, also, we're launching merch on Friday August 21 at 12 PM (Noon, PST). Everything is on pre-order, but there will be shirts and a plush crewmate. The best places to hear when it launches are on Discord and our mailing list, but we'll do our best to get the word out.

I so so good game in the Wold.
This is just my suggestion, I will not beg you to add it.. In among us two, make there a insanity bar for crewmates,if it goes all the way up ( and your game wont be rated R ) the crewmate will go insane and do suicide. If more than 3 crewmates go through this, the imposter wins.The way to stop the meter a little is having more emergency meetings, because they can talk with their "buddies." The way to LOWER the bar is to do tasks, because they will feel more safe. If you want you can make this update but WAYYYYYY more child friendly version.. I hope this update gets added, im pretty sure it wont, but luck is a thing!

They should make it that for impostor instead of faking task he can sabotage task like remove wires or make the navigation break it's like Crewmate task but instead of fixing you break.

But what about the things we bought in among us 1 will they transfer over to among us 2 or no cause if not it’s sad I only bought 2 things but I’m planning on buying more so if they don’t transfer then what would be the point i bought the mini crewmate pack and no ads so can you pls transfer perchases or let us restor them by Apple ID.
But if there was no ads, Innersloth wouldn't earn money from it. You know what ad revenue is, right?
I have a suggestion: You could add a feature to add a like to the maps, and if the map gets a bunch of likes, you can add one or 2 more like it, so we can get the same feel of it, but a new and improved map, with different looks, aesthetics, and features.
A suggestion:
Allow a personal in-game clearing system. Due to the meta of the game being so heavy on memory, it would be wonderful if we could get a cheat sheet. This "cheat sheet" would be available to all players, and would come in the form of a 3 button teir system only available on the meeting screen.
The function of this system would be to "clear" individuals during meetings, so that later in the round, you can look at who you have personally cleared, and allow yourself better judgement. I don't believe this would be game-breaking, as anyone can just take notes on a spare sheet of paper IRL. This would simply be for individuals who are detectives in the making.
I will give a brief example on how this might work so that if this idea should be adopted by the InnerSloth dev team, they should be able to understand it fully.
It in essence is a 3 button toggle system featuring: a green check, a yellow question mark, and a red x. Pushing these buttons does nothing to affect your vote or the player in any way, and is simply a note you make that no other player can see. For example, Red states that "Cyan sus". You can put a yellow question mark on both players, and as the meeting continues, as evidence goes on, you can either change your position on who seems more suspicious, and who has been cleared, or keep those notes onto the next meeting session. Fully cleared individuals should receive a green check mark, as they have been cleared, and should be cleared of any suspicion. Fully suspicious individuals would receive a red x, as they are most likely the imposter.
Just to reiterate, this system is only seen by the player, nobody else can see your cheat sheet. However, it's not entirely crew-sided, as the Imposter has it as well, and they can choose who to accuse to arouse the least suspicion. For example, Red also states that "blue sus", but Blue has been cleared in a previous round, making it very suspicious for Red, as he is the Imposter. If he had the option to make notes, just as everyone else, he would think twice about accusing him.
Now I understand that not all players would appreciate this mechanic, so I would suggest a toggleable setting in the lobby menu, allowing "Notes On/Off" such as the visual tasks or confirm ejects. I truly believe that this could be a very powerful tool that could add an element of intrigue in Among Us 2. Thank you for reading.

Please support Macs in Among Us 2. So annoying that I can’t play on PC...
I agree with Olnor's statement, but I believe this. You should make it so how we have stats in the game that show how many games we played and kills so on. It should have a system set up where if you get so many kills or how many times you won as either side. That it should reward with an in-game currency. So if you are impostor and you win the game like a few coins. Also there should be a pick your own color for your character. I like the presets, but if you get to choose your own color it makes it more unique. One last thing is the game itself needs its own unique chat. Like where you can actually talk instead of the other things. I like that it lets discord overlay on it, but the game itself should too. I love the crossplay and if you guys ever decided to push for a console release that would be sick. Anyways I can't wait for the 2nd game. I have been on this game for like only a good month almost and I enjoy it. Sucks I didn't join it back a long time ago. One thing I would like to point out. There should be some more kill animations. The stats are already in Among Us 1, but I see where you're coming from with the coins. But with the picking your color thing, there are pre-set colors individual and unique, and if trollers got to pick their own color, then the whole lobby could be so close to each other you cant tell the difference. Say there's black for example, and white, those are the main colors that people try to be them for being monochrome, and fitting every set you have. If people want them, and can pick their colors on a wheel, or grid, then everyone will always pick dark dark grey, and they cant tell which is which. especially if they have a blank name, its a troller's paradise. With the chatting, do you mean a voice chat? because if you do, that would be bad, because on public servers, there are kids screaming in the mic, and just being immature. So i think that the voice chatting idea will be a flunk because of the audience. You've seen how the little kids play, guessing, and the mics on mobile is relatively bad, so it wouldn't be a fun time at all, unless you're the one making the ears bleed.
You should add a way to earn coins to buy skins and stuff for free. Though it will be pretty hard. There are a lot of players who aren't allowed to handle micro-transactions without their parents consent. You could also add more skins. You could get coins by for example completing challenges as listed down below or get it in a daily roulette.
You should also add challenges and if you complete them you get a special skin themed for the challenge. The challenges could be to kill 5 people in 1 game as an impostor or win by doing tasks as a crewmate. That could be a way to gather free skins and hats.

There should be a button when you see a body which will estimate how long time ago it was killed
That idea is smart, but it also makes being an imp almost impossible, because if you were in a spot a certain amount of time ago, and get a kill, people will know its you immediately, so playing on skeld will be literally 5 second rounds. Especially when you go to electrical for example, if the kill can say how long it is, then if people know you went down there at the start, and the body was reported a while after, they will know either way, even if you thought you got away with it, but I like the idea.
what if you could suck on the bone sticking from the body. i've never kissed a girl and i think this could help. please innersloth

I want to give an idea for among us two
you can add new character named crewposter which choose between imposter and crew mate it hasn't got mission and it can't kill he can vote or sabotage he knows all persons character but because it can choose both sides that's hard to trust him

I bought all the skins and hats and can't equip themhi I think that for each game you win you gain some coins and with those coins you can buy pets and ,hats I also think that players can chose more colors and that with enough among us coins you can get something to make your own cloths and hats and maybe pets that would be cool and if u don't wanna make your cloths you can get templates.
they said that they would add that in among us 2
or That imposters can undo some tasks or do some imposter tasks too
Some kids aren’t allowed to buy stuff in there phone so that maybe some pets are free or something
