I bought the game and I was going to play with my sister and in the top left corner it tells you the version. So, her's says v2020.9.9o and this app when I opened it, it's v2020.9.22i. Is there anyway I can possibly change this to v2020.9.9o?
Yeah I forgot to update. But I am able to play now with my sisters I made the stupidest mistake... I wasn’t paying attention so In the bottom right corner is a language change for where you live and it was in Asia for some reason. But I changed it to North America and it works just fine now!

I had the same issue. I clicked on the Among Us Application file and it requested to to "extract files" I did that and it opened in a new file explorer window. Click into the Among Us file, and now this time you'll see the Among Us application has a crewmate avatar now and you can open it and play the game.
When I open the game the menu doesn't appear, I was able to play the game previously but now it's glitched. I also bought the game on steam, if anyone has encountered this and has a solution that would be very nice if you'd care to share it.

The game exchanges data between the server without encryption, so it is no wonder that there are so many hackers. Why did you publish the game without encrypting the data?
This was meant to be a small time waster game, they never expected it to blow up like this. Read their latest itch.io post, they say that they will be reworking some of the core code, and part of that will probably be encryption.
Thank you for your reply. I know this, but still - If you release a game to play on public servers, then an encryption is a must-have nowadays, independent of the size of the project. It's not hard to build in standard encryption modules. Most development environments offer this feature. I hope, they can make it safer and make the game hacker-free. This should be the highest priority on their ToDo list. I like to play it very much with friends, but in public matches with randoms there are too many hackers who just troll and destroy the fun for everyone.

I play the game a lot on steam and mobile. My suggestions:
1) Add a shorter kill range option. When me and my friends set it to "short", we find it's still a wider range than we'd like
2) remove (or add option to remove) the "snap on top of body when killing" mechanic, as it ruins the viability of strategies like killing in crowds in my opinion.
3) Add options that give imposters more information. Maybe have a toggle for imposters knowing where everyone is. This would allow an imposter to be more aggressive and tell better lies.
4) Allow for options that let the imposter do sabotages faster. This one is the most questionable balance-wise, but I think giving players more choice is never a bad idea.

the thing is i use macOS mojave on a unsupported macbook(2010) and when i try to open playonmac it just quit itself after bouncing once and i couldnt find a solution

Mobile version is free with ads you can pay to disable, and without all the hats unlocked. PC version doesn't have ad spam like on mobile, and comes with all hats.
Unfortunately, PC version also has the pets locked behind DLC only available through Steam, and no way to get to them without using a platform that's been a known health risk for some users for almost a year now.

you have to extract the file when you open among us and it will give you another folder which will give you the actual among us
