U just need ti install the itch.io app then install among us then click on the settings thing click on among us then press check for update and it will update the game
it's easy if you're on mobile but for pc (im on windows)
you need to download it again, then it opens a folder. click the among us folder, and it's gonna ask you to extract something. press extract or something similar, and it's gonna extract. after that, it brings you to a bunch of things, and one of them is among us. click that and then it should be fine. the only thing i've found out is that it doesn't work from the actual game, you need to launch it from the folder.

I don't know what is forcefully removing it. On my HP laptop, as I download it, it looks relatively normal, as it shows it downloading it on the bottom of my screen. Once it finishes downloading, I go to click it so I can extract the file and get to the Among Us application. As I go to click it, it becomes 'unclickable' and pops up as removed. It disappears from my recent downloads.
I have deleted all files, extracted or zip, that I had previously. I'm wagering it's my antivirus system, but it seems multiple other people are now having that problem in the comments, so I'm not so sure. It doesn't download no matter what I try, unfortunately.
That's not the only way to play it though. You can add the game to Steam with the key on the download page, or use the itch.io app and download it from there.

There might be an antivirus program on your computer removing it. It might be McAfee or Norton or something like that. Open whatever antivirus you have and there should be a place where it lists the files it has removed.

I have a chromebook as well. If you go to the google playstore on the chromebook, you should be able to download and play the mobile version for free. :)

maybe you have to delete all of the ones you already have and then download once and have one only.
