The game doesn't auto-update on itch.io - you have to re-download to get the latest version. And unfortunately, at the moment, the itch.io version doesn't actually work - flagging itself as an "unsupported" version of the game. Which is very much not ok. Obviously.
If you can use Steam (some of us can't), then on the download page, you have the option of redeeming a Steam key, so that might be an option for you?
I have updated, installed, uninstalled over and over. My character info is there but it won't let me type in the chat and I can add an acct. Somebody help!! I feel like all this should've been fixed by now!
There's been no statement that they plan to fix it, and a lot of games do move from itch to other platforms (mostly Steam) and force users onto them. I make a point of only buying games which are playable through itch, and not until I've made sure the devs plan to maintain support for the itch.io version - which seemed safe with Among Us because it's been running fine on here for years already.
Contact support about the issue, the more people that do, the more likely they are to actually treat it as a problem. I'm one of a number of buyers on itch.io who don't have the option of using Steam (Valve has known their client is a health risk for some users for over 18 months and refuse to address the problem).
The Airship for Among Us is released yay and the game finally has a report button so I can report players that are hacking, toxic, has an innapropriate name.
first when I opened The game for The first time i chose a random Date of birth So the game thinks That i am 4 years old.
I deleted the game and relaunched it but the same problem it keep telling me : "ask your guardian for his email to play " I'm 22 Years and i don't need my guardian email .please help me as fast as possible .
I tried everything on YT but nothing actually worked.
So, If you want to fix this, first press the Windows Logo key + R ant type in AppData. then go to LocalLow, then go to Innersloth then Among Us then find a file called PlayerPrefs. then replace the birthdate with another birthdate. If you mess up, close and don't save the file.
maybe the hacker is too good or they reported you at the same time another player with the name cyborg get reported for hacking so they dont know which one is the hacker(they choose random by closing their eyes and picking one of them?)

If you want to delete ALL your data, delete the Innersloth folder
